Meet Your Doula
My name is Brandi Evans, PCD (DONA). I was born and raised in New York City. I’m the second oldest out of 7 siblings. I’ve been in the childcare industry for about 22 years. I always had a passion for caring for babies.
My passion began when I was a young girl. My earliest experience of working with babies happened when I was a young 14 year old. My first involvement with infants was with my premature newborn twin relatives. I babysat them for an entire summer because their mother was a single parent and could not afford childcare. People felt and saw the care, love, and patience I had while taking care of the babies in my family and suggested that I make this my profession. Many years later, I listened. I was always told I had a motherly, nurturing aura. I am now in my 30’s, with a lot of experience, training, dedication and hard work; I am now a Certified Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor and a Certified Newborn Care Specialist (baby nurse). I love what I do.
I was lucky enough to have an incredible Doula and amazing help from my family. I would always imagine becoming a mother without that extra help – How would I have managed without them in the first few weeks of motherhood? It wasn’t until after giving birth to my daughter in 2018, that I definitely realized that becoming a doula was my destiny.
I have always felt a connection with my clients but being a new mother made that connection deeper and more profound. I can actually live through every emotion with my clients. I can say “I know how you feel” or “I understand” and feel what they feel. It comes from a place of experience which deepens the empathy and also I can genuinely help them get through any challenges that they may face. I absolutely love what I do and I’m grateful to be able to help others. When working with clients I do everything out of love – my love for babies and my love for the beauty in motherhood. These exact emotions and deep feelings is why Cared For With Love was created. Having help after a baby is first born can intensify the passion that the mother has for that baby because they have nothing but time to live in that present moment.
Through education, empathy, skill, and love I am able to make the transition from birth to motherhood a seamless one. Helping mommy and baby harmoniously exist with one another while creating structure, understanding, and togetherness. Motherhood can be scary because of the unknown, I help diminish those onset of initial fears through my hands on and loving approach. My goal is to help as many women as I can because those first moments are the most crucial. I want these beautiful mothers to know, with Cared For With Love they are never alone.
